Designing Your Cards.

Customize the look and feel with logos, backgrounds, and icons

Jan 2, 2026

Visual design makes your stamp cards memorable and engaging. Upload custom images, choose recognizable icons, and create a branded experience that customers love.

Visual Elements

Your stamp card includes several customizable visual elements:

  • Logo — Your business or program logo
  • Background image — Full-card background visual
  • Stamp icon — Symbol displayed on each stamp
  • Colors — Derived from your images and branding

Choosing Stamp Icons

Emoji Picker

Stamp cards use emojis as stamp icons, allowing you to choose from thousands of universally recognized symbols. The emoji picker provides easy access to the full emoji library.

To select an icon:

  1. Open the emoji picker in the Stamp Configuration tab
  2. Browse categories (Smileys, Food, Activities, etc.) or search
  3. Click your preferred emoji
  4. See live preview on the stamp card
  5. Emoji is saved with your stamp card

Stamp Count Options

Choose from six curated stamp counts, each designed for optimal visual display:

Stamps Grid Layout Best For
5 5×1 (single row) Quick rewards, simple programs
6 3×2 grid Balanced, compact design
8 4×2 grid Popular choice, symmetrical
9 3×3 grid Perfect square, premium feel
10 5×2 grid Traditional loyalty programs
12 4×3 grid Extended programs, higher value rewards

Why curated options? These specific counts ensure your stamp cards always display with balanced, pixel-perfect grids that look professional on all devices.

Icon Best Practices

Choose recognizable symbols: Customers should instantly understand what your business offers.

Ensure cross-platform compatibility: Test that your icon displays correctly on iOS, Android, and web browsers.

Consider light and dark mode: Some emojis look different in dark mode. Preview both.

Match your brand: The icon should align with your business identity and the reward offered.

Keep it simple: Avoid overly complex icons that don't scale well at small sizes.

Uploading Logo Images

Logo Specifications

Format: JPG, PNG, or WebP Size limit: 5MB Recommended dimensions: 500x500px (square) Aspect ratio: 1:1 (square)

Logo Design Tips

Use high resolution: Upload at least 500x500px for crisp display on all devices.

Square format works best: Circular or square logos display perfectly. Horizontal logos may be cropped.

Transparent backgrounds: PNG with transparency looks professional and adapts to any background.

Ensure readability: Logo should be clear at small sizes (displayed at 80-120px typically).

Brand consistency: Use your official logo for recognition and trust.

Uploading Process

  1. Navigate to the Media tab in your stamp card form
  2. Click Choose File under Logo
  3. Select your image file
  4. Preview appears immediately
  5. Adjust if needed or confirm

To replace:

  1. Click Remove on current logo
  2. Upload new image

Adding Background Images

Background Specifications

Format: JPG, PNG, or WebP Size limit: 10MB Recommended dimensions: 1200x600px (horizontal) Aspect ratio: 2:1 (horizontal rectangle)

Background Design Tips

Choose relevant imagery:

  • Coffee beans for coffee shops
  • Food photography for restaurants
  • Product shots for retail
  • Lifestyle images for services

Ensure good contrast: Background should not make text unreadable. Use the opacity slider to adjust.

Avoid busy patterns: Simple, clean backgrounds work better than complex patterns.

Test on mobile: Backgrounds display differently on small screens. Preview on various devices.

Brand alignment: Use images that reflect your brand aesthetic and values.

Background Opacity

Field: Background Opacity Range: 0-100% Default: 60%

Controls how transparent the background image appears.

Lower opacity (30-50%):

  • Background is subtle
  • Text is highly readable
  • Clean, professional look

Medium opacity (50-70%):

  • Balanced visibility
  • Background adds atmosphere
  • Text remains clear

Higher opacity (70-100%):

  • Background is prominent
  • May reduce text readability
  • Use only with high-contrast images

Recommendation: Start at 60% and adjust based on your specific image.

Uploading Process

  1. Navigate to the Media tab
  2. Click Choose File under Background
  3. Select your image
  4. Preview appears with current opacity
  5. Adjust opacity slider
  6. Preview updates in real-time
  7. Save when satisfied

Design Examples

Coffee Shop

Logo: Coffee shop logo (circular, brown tones) Background: Coffee beans close-up Opacity: 50% Icon: ☕ Coffee cup Result: Warm, inviting, clearly coffee-focused

Restaurant

Logo: Restaurant logo (elegant script) Background: Plated dish photography Opacity: 40% Icon: 🍽️ Plate and utensils Result: Appetizing, upscale, food-focused

Retail Store

Logo: Store logo (modern, colorful) Background: Product display or store interior Opacity: 55% Icon: 🛍️ Shopping bag Result: Vibrant, shopping-oriented, brand-forward

Spa/Wellness

Logo: Spa logo (calming, minimal) Background: Zen stones or peaceful scene Opacity: 45% Icon: 💆 Massage symbol Result: Relaxing, serene, wellness-focused

Responsive Design Considerations

Your stamp card displays on various screen sizes:

Mobile (most common):

  • Logo: 80-100px
  • Background: Scales to fit
  • Icon: 40-50px per stamp

Tablet:

  • Logo: 100-120px
  • Background: Wider display
  • Icon: 50-60px per stamp

Desktop:

  • Logo: 120-150px
  • Background: Full width
  • Icon: 60-80px per stamp

Design for mobile first: Ensure your logo and background look great on small screens, and they'll scale beautifully to larger displays.

Accessibility Considerations

Color Contrast

Ensure sufficient contrast between:

  • Text and background
  • Logo and background
  • Icons and background

Test with:

  • Light mode
  • Dark mode
  • Various screen brightness levels

Alt Text

While not configurable in the form, the system automatically generates descriptive alt text for accessibility:

  • Logo: "[Business name] logo"
  • Background: "[Program title] background"
  • Icons: "[Icon name] stamp icon"

Visual Clarity

Avoid:

  • Very light text on light backgrounds
  • Very dark text on dark backgrounds
  • Low-contrast color combinations

Prefer:

  • High contrast
  • Clear, legible fonts
  • Simple, recognizable icons

Updating Design Elements

Editing Existing Stamp Cards

To update visual elements on an active stamp card:

  1. Navigate to Stamp Cards list
  2. Click Edit on the program
  3. Go to Media tab
  4. Upload new images or change opacity
  5. Click Save

Changes take effect immediately:

  • Customers see updated design
  • Existing enrollments retain progress
  • No impact on stamp counts or rewards

A/B Testing Designs

Test different visual approaches:

Create variations:

  1. Duplicate your stamp card
  2. Change only the visual elements
  3. Run both programs simultaneously
  4. Compare enrollment and completion rates

Analyze results:

  • Which design attracts more enrollments?
  • Which has higher completion rates?
  • Which generates more customer feedback?

Implement winners:

  • Keep the best-performing design
  • Deactivate underperforming variations
  • Apply learnings to future programs

Image Optimization

File Size

Keep images under recommended limits:

  • Logos: 500KB or less
  • Backgrounds: 2MB or less

Benefits:

  • Faster page loading
  • Better mobile experience
  • Reduced bandwidth usage

Tools for compression:

  • TinyPNG (online)
  • ImageOptim (Mac)
  • Squoosh (web-based)

Format Selection

PNG:

  • Best for logos with transparency
  • Supports alpha channel
  • Slightly larger file sizes

JPG:

  • Best for photographic backgrounds
  • Smaller file sizes
  • No transparency support

WebP:

  • Modern format
  • Best compression
  • Excellent quality
  • Supported on all modern browsers

Recommendation: Use WebP when possible, PNG for logos, JPG for photos.

Troubleshooting Design Issues

"Image file too large"

Cause: File exceeds size limit Solution: Compress image before uploading

"Image appears stretched"

Cause: Wrong aspect ratio Solution: Use recommended dimensions (square for logo, 2:1 for background)

"Text is unreadable"

Cause: Background too prominent Solution: Lower background opacity to 40-50%

"Logo looks blurry"

Cause: Low resolution image Solution: Upload higher resolution (minimum 500x500px)

"Background doesn't display"

Cause: File format not supported or upload failed Solution: Use JPG, PNG, or WebP and try uploading again
