Managing Managers
Assign managers to networks for delegated administration
Managers are users who can onboard partners within their assigned network. They provide a layer of delegation between administrators and individual businesses.
What Is a Manager?
A manager is an administrator with limited scope. They can create and support partners, but only within their assigned network. They cannot access system settings or other networks.
When to Use Managers
Direct management: If you manage all partners yourself, you don't need managers. Administrators can create partners directly.
Delegated management: Assign managers when you want someone else to onboard and support partners in a specific region or network.
Examples:
- Regional managers for geographic areas
- Franchise coordinators
- Shopping center administrators
- Client account managers
Creating a Manager
- Go to Managers in the admin sidebar
- Click Create Manager
- Enter their name and email
- Set a password (they can change it later)
- Assign them to a network
- Click Save
The manager will receive login credentials and can access their dashboard at /manager.
Manager Capabilities
Managers can:
| Action | Allowed |
|---|---|
| Create new partners | ✅ In their network only |
| View and edit partners | ✅ Those they created |
| See partner analytics | ✅ Their network only |
| Support partner staff | ✅ Within their network |
Managers cannot:
| Action | Allowed |
|---|---|
| Access other networks | ❌ |
| Create or modify networks | ❌ |
| Appoint other managers | ❌ |
| Access system settings | ❌ |
| View all platform activity | ❌ |
Network Assignment
Each manager belongs to exactly one network. If you need the same person to manage multiple networks:
- Create separate manager accounts for each network
- Or promote them to administrator (full access)
Deactivating Managers
To remove a manager's access:
- Edit the manager account
- Set status to inactive
- Save
Their partners remain unaffected. You can reassign partner management or handle them directly as an administrator.
Best Practices
Choose the right scope: Only assign manager access when you need delegation. More managers means more complexity.
Document responsibilities: Make clear which manager handles which partners or regions.
Regular reviews: Periodically review manager accounts and deactivate unused ones.
Training: Ensure managers understand their capabilities and limitations before granting access.
