License & Updates

💡 Always test updates in a test environment before updating production. Back up your database, verify everything works, then deploy.

Reward Loyalty includes a built-in license validation and update system. Activating your license enables one-click updates directly from the admin dashboard.

Activating Your License

1. Log in as an administrator at /en-us/admin
2. Navigate to License & Updates in the sidebar
3. Enter your Envato purchase code
4. Click Validate

Your purchase code is found in your CodeCanyon downloads. Click "Download" → "License certificate & purchase code" on your purchase.

Once validated, your license status and support expiration date will display.

One-Click Updates

When a new version is available, you'll see a notification in the License & Updates section.

To update:

1. Go to License & Updates
2. Review the changelog and what's new
3. Click Update Now

The system will:

• Download the update package
• Back up critical files
• Apply the update
• Run any required database migrations
• Clear caches

No manual file uploads required. The entire process is automated.

What Gets Updated

Updates replace application code while preserving:

• Your .env configuration
• User uploads in public/files
• Your database
• Any custom files in protected directories

Update Requirements

• Active support license (check your expiration date)
• VPS hosting recommended — One-click updates use the exec() PHP function, which is typically disabled on shared hosting
• Sufficient server disk space
• Write permissions on application directories

Shared hosting users: If your host disables the exec() function, you'll need to use the manual upgrade process instead. Contact your hosting provider to check if exec() is available, or consider upgrading to VPS hosting for full update automation.

Checking Your Version

Your current version displays on the admin dashboard and in the License & Updates section.

Support Renewal

If your support has expired, you can renew on CodeCanyon to continue receiving updates. The License & Updates section will show your support status.
