Activation nudges.

Invite a member who added one of your cards and then never came in to make a first visit, with an optional welcome voucher.

Jul 21, 2026

Some members add one of your cards and then never come in. The activation nudge invites them to make that first visit. It works like the win-back reward, but for members who never started: win-back brings back a regular who went quiet, while the activation nudge reaches someone who signed up and has not visited yet.

A member receives the nudge when all of these are true:

  • They added one of the club's loyalty cards, stamp cards, or prepaid passes. A voucher on its own does not count.
  • They have never earned, redeemed, or used anything with your business, at this club or any other club you run.
  • They accept offers and news.
  • Their oldest matching card has waited at least the number of days you set.
  • Their account is active and registered, with an email address on file.

Each member is invited once, ever. The app never sends a second activation nudge to the same member for your business, even if you run more than one club. A member who is already active at another of your clubs is left out, because they know you.

The invitation can carry a personal, single-use voucher as a reason to visit. Pick an Activation voucher on the club and each member gets their own copy, with a fresh code valid for 14 days from the day it is sent. Leave it unset and the invitation still goes out, as a plain welcome that points back to the member's wallet. These personal copies never count toward your plan's voucher allowance, and they never appear in your voucher template pickers, the same as birthday and win-back copies.

Turning it on

The activation nudge is off by default, on every club. Turning it on sends marketing-class mail, so the club form states what happens before you enable it:

  1. Go to Clubs and edit the club.
  2. Switch on Send the activation nudge.
  3. Set Days before sending: how long to wait after a member adds a card before the invitation goes out (7 to 90 days, default 14).
  4. Pick an Activation voucher if you want the invitation to carry a first-visit gift. This field appears when your plan includes vouchers.
  5. Save.

A member who turns off Offers and news is skipped: no email goes out, and nothing is recorded against them. Consent decides who is eligible here, not only who gets the mail. The app is self-hosted software, so the legal basis for sending and your local marketing rules stay your responsibility as the operator.

The nudge runs once a day: on its own with cron, or on the first portal traffic of the day when cron is absent. An admin can also run it by hand from Health center → Scheduled tasks, which shows when it last ran and how many invitations went out. Every invitation records an entry in your Activity logs under the Lifecycle category.
