Managing managers.
Assign managers to networks for delegated administration
Managers are users who can onboard partners within their assigned networks. They provide a layer of delegation between administrators and individual businesses.
What is a manager?
A manager is an administrator with limited scope. They can create and support partners, but only within their assigned networks. They cannot access system settings or other networks.
Managers sign in at the same /admin URL as administrators and land on a scoped version of the admin dashboard. There is no separate manager URL.
When to use managers
Direct management: If you manage all partners yourself, you don't need managers. Administrators can create partners themselves.
Delegated management: Assign managers when you want someone else to onboard and support partners in a specific region or network.
Examples:
- Regional managers for geographic areas
- Franchise coordinators
- Shopping center administrators
- Client account managers
Creating a manager
A manager is an administrator account with the Manager role; you create one from the Administrators list:
- Go to Administrators in the admin sidebar (under Administration)
- Click Add
- Enter their name and email
- Set a password (they can change it later)
- Set Role to Manager
- Pick one or more networks in the Networks field
- Click Save
The manager signs in at /admin with these credentials and sees the partners in their networks.
Manager capabilities
Managers can:
| Action | Allowed |
|---|---|
| Create new partners | ✅ In their networks only |
| View and edit partners | ✅ Those in their assigned networks |
| See partner analytics | ✅ Their networks only |
| Support partner staff | ✅ Within their networks |
Managers cannot:
| Action | Allowed |
|---|---|
| Access other networks | ❌ |
| Create or modify networks | ❌ |
| Appoint other managers | ❌ |
| Access system settings, the Health center, the SaaS overview, or License & updates | ❌ |
| View all platform activity | ❌ |
Network assignment
The Networks field is a multi-select: a manager can hold one network or several, and they see the partners in all of them. To widen or narrow a manager's scope, edit the account and change the selection. If someone needs every network plus the system surfaces, promote them to administrator instead.
Deactivating managers
To remove a manager's access:
- Open Administrators and edit the manager account
- Turn off the Active toggle
- Save
Their partners remain unaffected. You can reassign partner management or handle them yourself as an administrator.
Best practices
Choose the right scope: Only assign manager access when you need delegation. More managers means more complexity.
Document responsibilities: Make clear which manager handles which partners or regions.
Regular reviews: Review manager accounts from time to time and deactivate unused ones.
Training: Ensure managers understand their capabilities and limitations before granting access.
